About The Expert
Mary Ann Golin began her career in the Financial Services Industry in 1981 with EF Hutton at their flagship office in Southfield, Michigan. She quickly assumed the role of Training Supervisor and within two years was invited to join the management team. Since the NYSE Branch Manager Exam (Series 8) required at least 3 years industry experience, a waiver was requested and granted due to her outstanding performance as a leader in the branch. In 1983 she became part of that management team with oversight responsibilities for up to 84 Financial Consultants in addition to growing her own client based business with stocks, bonds, annuities, and options. After achieving distinction for her client work, she took over 2 branches with a satellite in mid-Michigan as a Vice President. During her management service she successfully resolved many complex client complaints.
Mrs. Golin left EF Hutton/ Shearson Lehman Bros. in 1993 and joined Prudential Securities. After 3 years, she joined a team which brought in and ran a $100 million + Master Retirement Account for the American Consulting Engineers Council. She serviced this business traveling throughout the entire United States advising members on how to design their retirement plans, enrolling participants, converting existing plans and advising plan fiduciaries and participants.
Merrill Lynch recruited Mrs. Golin for a newly created position as a Retirement Specialist in 2001. She began as one of only five such specialists in the country because of her expertise in all phases of retirement including EGTRRA, IRA rollovers, and associated tax strategies. She served in that capacity until October, 2004.
